Thanksgiving is a large community meal whereas City Officials, Police, Broward Sheriff office representatives, Supporters, Parks & Recreation Staff, Sheridan Technical College, Culinary Arts Department, Volunteers, and Guests come together to serve residents a hearty Thanksgiving Lunch. Generally centered around roasted turkey, ham, and chicken served with a variety of side dishes from yellow rice, mashed potatoes, green beans, collard greens, macaroni & cheese, stuffing complete with southern cornbread, cranberry sauce. Refreshments to include various types of block captain cool aid. Entertainment, Giveaways, Dancing, health screenings, local info & resource vendors, all-around fun. Senior Citizen Communities welcome.

9th Annual Holiday Food Distribution

This event features a large "Outdoor Supermarket" area set up just for our little ones, health screenings local info & resource vendors and more. CEC and its community partners provide free groceries to hundreds of local families in need. Giveaways include meat (turkey, chicken, ham, or pork roast), fresh fruit, produce, household items and more. There will be a line. Please bring your chair, umbrella, bags, or personal shopping cart, water, a snack and your medication. Parking is limited, carpool if possible. Distributing over 50, 000 pounds of groceries and items, first come first serve. Open to the Public. Registration is required via this website.

In preparation for the upcoming Holiday Toy Distribution, we decorate the Washington Park Community Center Gym. Together with volunteer staff and volunteers, we host a Toy Drive to collect unwrapped toys for ages 1 - 10, gift certificates and/or electronics for ages 11-14. Interested in volunteering or collecting toys as a group, organization and/or company we welcome the help and support. Send your information via this website's contact page .
